Call for Jurors & Reviewers

AAFCS invites you to submit your interest to be a reviewer or juror for the 2026 AAFCS Annual Conference.

Deadline to Volunteer: October 15, 2025 - Extended to November 15, 2025!

Apply to be a reviewer or juror in four areas: 

  1. Volunteers for Awards Jurors
    AAFCS Jurors will work with the Awards Committee and the Grant Committee this year. The 2026 AAFCS Awards are the Distinguished Service Award (DSA), Teacher of the Year (TOY), Leader, New Achiever, Undergraduate Scholarships, Graduate Fellowships and the Wiley Berger Service Award. DSA applications will close on November 03, 2025, materials will be ready for review between November 10th to 17th. TOY, New Achiever, Leader, Undergraduate Scholarships, Graduate Fellowships and the Wiley Berger Service Award applications will close on January 12, 2026, materials will be ready to review between January 19 to February 2. Please contact here with any questions.

  2. Volunteers for Grant Reviewers 
    The 2026 AAFCS Grant Applications for review include:  Chalkley Fenn Public Policy Grant, Ruth O'Brien Project Grant, Centennial Scholars Research Grant, FCS Interdisciplinary Research Grant, and FCS Recruitment Grant.  Grant applications close December 15, 2025.  Review will occur in January 2026.  Please contact here with any questions. 

  3. Volunteers to Review Conference Education Sessions 
    We are seeking reviewers to help evaluate educational session proposals for the 2026 AAFCS Annual Conference. Your expertise and insight would be greatly appreciated in selecting high-quality sessions that align with the conference’s goals and meet the needs of our diverse audience. As a reviewer, you’ll be asked to assess submitted proposals using a standard rubric and provide feedback.

  4. Apparel, Textile, and Design Showcase Volunteers 
    Jurors will collaborate with the Apparel, Textiles, and Design (ATD) committee to review and score submissions for the Juried Showcase, held in conjunction with the AAFCS Annual Conference in designated cities each year. Jurors may be either AAFCS members or non-members. Your interest in serving as a juror for the ATD Juried Showcase is appreciated. Your participation ensures a fair and professional evaluation of design submissions. All designs will be ready for review on February 1, 2026 and reviews must be completed by February 15, 2026.  Please contact here with any questions.
